Welcome to the first installment of “Tales from the Tech Side”! In this new email series, I’m going to try to give you some ideas on how you can up-sale your customers by combining different products together in a kind of “package”. Hopefully this will help your customers fix problems they probably didn’t know they had, and get you some more revenue in the process. So, basically a win/win right?

In our area, translation is a big deal. Almost every customer has a need for some kind of translation interaction, especially the education and corporate worlds. And what else do those two customers also have in common? Conferencing. So, why not combine the two areas together and fix a problem for them?

Say your corporate customer calls in looking for a wireless conferencing system. Of course you’re going to tell them about the new Shure Microflex wireless system, but just by adding the Williams IC-2 interpreter control console you get an outstanding conferencing system and, just by bringing in a translator, the ability for multi-lingual meetings.

Or, for the education market, how about those PTA meetings? How about a small Microflex wireless system (with a K&M stand for the access point) and the IC-2? And when they aren’t doing those PTA meetings the Microflex wireless can be used for assemblies, conferences, etc. How’s that for bang for your buck?

And how about that rental market? How often could a rental company lease out a system like that? And who else in your area has both conferencing AND translations systems available? Not many, I’d guess.

So you can see how, with just a little bit of extra conversation with your customer, you can not only help them out but also put a little extra money in your pocket. And maybe get into some areas of revenue that wasn’t available to you before. Like I said before, that’s a win/win.

Well, there you go. The first in, hopefully, an on-going series of ideas from the “Tech Side”. As always, if you have any questions you can drop me an email or give me a call. Everyone here at Highway Marketing is here to help you in any way we can. So take it easy, and thanks for the read.
